How many people can Chateau Greenstone comfortably accommodate?

Chateau Greenstone comfortably accommodates up to 18 guests with dedicated beds and bedrooms for all. With 11 beds, including 3 kings and 4 queens, there are numerous sleeping combinations. The layout is designed to give large groups both shared gathering spaces and private sleeping areas, making it well suited for families, friends, and multi-generational stays at Wintergreen Resort.

Is Chateau Greenstone suitable for large groups and families with kids?

Absolutely! Chateau Greenstone is designed specifically for large groups and families, with multiple gathering areas, kid-friendly spaces, and enough bedrooms and bathrooms to give everyone room to spread out. Families appreciate the balance of shared spaces and quiet areas, making it easy for all ages to enjoy their stay at Wintergreen Resort.

What amenities are included (hot tub, sauna, game areas, Zen Den)?

Chateau Greenstone has one of the largest arrays of amenities in all of Wintergreen Resort.  It has a 6 person hot tub, 4 person sauna, zero-gravity massage chair & water feature in the Zen Den, shuffleboard, combo bumper pool/game table, foosball, mid-size ping pong table, two arcade games (Ms Pacman and Mortal Kombat), pinball machine, X-box One, safe darts, outdoor commercial-grade heaters, 3 fireplaces (1 gas, 1 electric, 1 gas stove), 9 large TVs from 55" to 85"(one in every bedroom and every living space), and a kid's play cubby loaded with kid's games, toys, and books. It also sports a good array of outdoor games including a safe axe through, frisbee/disc golf basket, a rope swing, cornhole, giant size Jenga, and life size Tetris Tumble.

Where is Chateau Greenstone located within Wintergreen Resort?

The property is located on the Blackrock Mountain side of Wintergreen Resort.  It is less than 1 mile to the resort complex and the ski slopes. This is the quieter side of the mountain. The home offers convenient access to resort amenities while maintaining a quiet, private mountain setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

How close is the home to skiing, hiking, and local attractions?

Chateau Greenstone is only .9 miles (3 minutes) to the skiing parking lot or a 4 minute walk to a mid-way access point to the Tyro ski slope!   Within a 3 minute walk you can be at the Pedlars Edge Trailhead and we are only a 5 minute walk to scenic Blackrock Park, home of the Plunge rock climbing trail.  The popular Nelson 151 wine and brewery trail is just a 15 minute drive. Guests enjoy both outdoor recreation and nearby dining year-round.

Is parking available, and how many vehicles can park?

Parking is indeed free and on-site at Chateau Greenstone. We note parking can accommodate 5-9 vehicles (depending on size and willingness to double park) making arrival and departures easy for large groups. We have had groups park 10 cars, but don't want to assume everyone can do that.

What should guests know about stairs, layout, or accessibility?

Chateau Greenstone is a multi-level mountain property.  There are exterior stairs to the front door on the main (middle) level.  Then there are two interior staircases - one up and one down.  Besides the entrance stairs to the primary front door, there is flat, ground level access to the lower level.  Additionally, there is extra wide parking space that can accommodate disabled parking needs.The layout includes multiple living areas and bedrooms across levels, which helps large groups spread out comfortably during their stay at Wintergreen Resort.

How many Is Wintergreen Resort a four season vacation area?

Absolutely. Every season has it's unique splendor and activities at Chateau Greenstone. Winter starts the year with skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at the best ski resort in the entire Mid-Atlantic region, as well as some of the best mountain views. Spring brings an abundance of activity in the Rockfish Valley below the mountain, with it's bursting wildflowers & blooming orchards and a head start on all the good weather activities available for the next 9 months. Catch the "early bite" on nearby fishing and the scenery of spring hiking. Summer in Wintergreen brings the fullest array of activities, from fishing, golf, tennis, lake activities (swimming, kayaking, paddling), rafting, and of course winery, brewery, and distillery touring. And remember, the mountain is commonly 6-10 degrees cooler that the lower elevations when temperatures rise. Not to be outdone, Fall packs the biggest visual punch, with the explosion of Autumn colors. Stunning, memorable views are around every corner. Fall hiking can be exhilarating. And of course most of the other attractions are still very accessible.
